They are telling you that if you install it to USB and your computer won't boot from the USB drive you are on your own. AFAIK, you shouldn't have a problem but I have never done that. I use pluggable...

what do you mean by plugable harddrives ? so i cant run windows 7virtual ?       and like you say , that no one with a notebook  can run a virtual machine without adding an internal HD ?(or partition)

I use a hard drive that plugs in with a tray. That does NOT mean you can't run from USB, I just meant that I don't do it that way. Why not just give it a try?Install it on the USB drive and when you go...

Oops, sorry, I was mistaken. You cannot boot a VM via USB, if you look in the VM's BIOS, you will see that it is not a choice for removable devices. Search on boot USB and you will see many posts...
